Our Story

Hello

I'm Mel, the founder of vintage homewares and gift shop, Rustikk. Creating this website to share my love of interiors and sourcing those more unique items for the home, this is something I have been wanting to do for a very long time!

I have a passion for mixing old and new, a keen eye for vintage finds, and a particular love of the rustic 'worn' look that adds so much charm to the home, hence my name Rustikk!

It's all in the name

Yes, I know it's an unusual spelling! But there is a very good reason behind this. Rustikk is the Norwegian word for Rustic, my mum, whose eye for interior styling has inspired me from a young age, is also Norwegian. She has taught me all I know about mixing eclectic old pieces with charming new ones, and together we love nothing more than going on the hunt for vintage treasures! I'm passionate about keeping our Norwegian roots and shared love of interiors alive, and passing these down to my three children.

What I love about vintage items is the story behind them; their chipped paint and rustic charm making each piece unique. I have teamed up with some incredible suppliers to showcase fantastic quality items with a real rustic feel, so you can find a beautiful mix of old and new at Rustikk.
